Night Drive

The best way to create that jaw dropping landscape or seascape shot is your focal point. Whether it's green lush mountainside or the calm blue ocean, the wider the angle the better tale told. Watch your horizon, keep it straight but plenty of lines could make for a more uniformed image and choose a small aperture setting as the smaller your aperture the greater sense of dimension in your shots.

You would greatly benefit by increasing your ISO and lengthen your shutter speed if needed because by selecting the smaller aperture setting, this in turn will minimise the amount of light captured by your image sensor.

Focal point is key with all shots and when choosing to capture your image always try and select your focal off centre for a more interesting view point.

Time of the day
Natural light plays a very big part when capturing your landscape or seascape.
The three key factors to look out for is direction, colour and intensity which change by the minute.
Choosing the right time of day makes all the difference.

Capturing or freezing movement
Drama is created both by a fast and slow shutter speeds.
To freeze the image's subject such as water, you will need to set your speed to 1/1000s and be careful not to overexpose.

When looking to capture movement in your photos, a tripod is widely recommended to reduce any unwanted blur from the slightest hand wobble.
Using ND filters will trick the camera into thinking it needs a longer shutter speed.
